SunshineKids AcademiesWeekly golf lessons for juniors at the University Golf Academy in Glenwood Durban. Ages between 5 and 7 are put through the Weeni G programme while ages 8 to 12 are put through the Mid G programme. The golfers attend an hour lesson (every week) in a group format for an entire quarter headed up by one of our PGA Professionals. There are also 'fun' competitions held quarterly at a local Massie course that all children are eligable to enter. Please go to availability and prices tab to find out the costs and what's on. St. Henry's Marists Brothers
One of Durban's leading independent schools now offers golf as an extra-curricular sport for their pupils. The programme runs indefinitely on a term on term basis and lessons take place every Tuesday or Thursday between 2:30 and 3:30. There are never more than 10 children per coach as is policy at SunshineKids and all our staff are members of the Professional Golfers Association. Paul Bowden (A) PGA (SA) (UK&Ire), author of Weeni G and Mid G, and an old boy of St. Henry's will be directing the programme. All students of the school wishing to participate must register first (top right) and go to the TAB 'Book-on-line' and click on St. Henry's Icon. Glenwood School - Elite Programme
One of Kwa-Zulu Natal's top sporting all boys senior schools are being coached by 3 PGA Professionals out of the University Golf Academy. The structured programme involves a once a week 1,5 Hr coaching lesson plus two 1.5 Hr practise sessions weekly. Each learner works through their folders which include assessment, corrections and goal setting. Presently the PGA/Student ratio is 1 to 4 and the golfers have full use of our Explanar and we regularly video analyse.
Durban High School (DHS) - Improvers Group
The established golfing school of DHS who produced Rory Sabbatini and other PGA Professionals is looking for their next star. Every Tuesday at 2:30 assistant PGA Professional (Kyle) and Paul Bowden (Head Pro) introduce the various aspects of golf to the boys. The progamme covers all aspects of the game and we encourage the learners to practise in their own time between lessons.
'School & golf club link programme'
Sunisport has started the club/school link program in Kwa-Zulu Natal and is expanding into every corner of South Africa. SunshineKids also offers weekly group lessons during term time which last between 45 minutes and an hour; from it base at the University Driving Range.
Professionals Based at Clubs and Ranges run the SK Program. They are PGA Professionals of excellent ability and are trained on the SK Series program. Find your local academy or go to 'book on line' to see what is available.
